The field was small. But I wasn't the last in my AG. Booya!

It doesn't surprise me that you'd like the muffins =P

Sam ~ I don't know if you'll see this again, but since a person doesn't really need to carbo load for a 5 or 10k, the pre-race spaghetti meal ritual isn't really necessary.

To explain the protein, one time I ate a steak, around dinnertime, and the next day I had a phenomenal run. I tried it again and experienced the same results. My unscientific explanation is that, perhaps, I tend to not eat enough protein, so that high amount of protein I ate really helped for whatever reason.
As it is, I don't do well with foods that the body can digest easily, but if I eat something "sturdy" within the appropriate time-frame from an event, I can tell the difference. This has been my personal experience.

Jenny ~ Thanks! It's one of my favorite courses I've raced yet.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17361819186011561670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-78861649071346097392009-08-24T20:53:50.484-04:002009-08-24T20:53:50.484-04:00Congrats on the race! It's interesting that you like to eat protein before a race, when I go for long bike rides I like to eat protein after to help me recover.

The food as always looks great! I really like the lentil patties.Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04554151962924841103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-46139313561099968802009-08-23T07:45:02.073-04:002009-08-23T07:45:02.073-04:00Congrats on the race. I wish I could come in third in anything without really trying :)

Thanks for giving me the heads up on the coffee break muffins, I always wanted to try those, and now I know it's a coffee lovers friend.

Now the important question... is that a Chuck Norris hoodie?Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08494977879326006105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-19847505963349593632009-08-23T07:28:46.233-04:002009-08-23T07:28:46.233-04:00Oooh lentils and muffins - love them both :-D
