And panettones have raisins, too.

Laurel - I like that I'm not the only one who made two versions!
The variations are one thing that attracted me to these recipes, and one I look forward to playing around with.

TTFN - Not at all, I'm just glad it was split amongst several people. =P

Breadcrumb Runner - It can go wrong if the person is a n00b =D

I've never been to Outback Steakhouse so I don't know what exactly that is, but it sounds like something I should know and will look into.

Belated St. Patrick's Day back at you!Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17361819186011561670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-31264858368480812362009-03-18T14:40:00.000-04:002009-03-18T14:40:00.000-04:00How could a Martha Stewart recipe ever go wrong? :...How could a Martha Stewart recipe ever go wrong? :)

Both breads sound really good, especially the brown bread. I like your versions with a little more substance. Preserves its presence in the tummy a bit longer. I've made it with half whole wheat, half all-purpose before. It really has the potential for so many deviations from the original...but is amazing as is.
It is a wonderful, simple bread that goes swimmingly with just about any meal. An essential staple to everyone's cooking repertoire...not just for St. Patty's Day! ;-)Laurelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12752544536247854441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-48325059571307104732009-03-18T01:17:00.000-04:002009-03-18T01:17:00.000-04:00omg, I consumed more Irish Soda bread today than a...omg, I consumed more Irish Soda bread today than anyone ever should (and this was not the old school kind either - it was full fat, full sugar, full deliciousness). The exact amount is a bit hazy, but there's no getting past the numerous return trips I made to the bread platter.
the caraway were definitely my favorite part about the one I had today. The scent of the caraway seeds trailed each bite and was the perfect pair for the currants and orange flavor. I can't wait to experiment with this bread - great post! :DAntonio Tahhanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13664464751523646675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-4288776450231941612009-03-17T21:38:00.000-04:002009-03-17T21:38:00.000-04:00Why is it you normally use milk and vinegar for ot...Why is it you normally use milk and vinegar for other recipes instead of traditional buttermilk?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!PBHoneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07531584269564718066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1060755630800309245.post-76271106562919525742009-03-17T20:06:00.000-04:002009-03-17T20:06:00.000-04:00Lovely variations!!Happy St. Patrick's Day to you ...Lovely variations!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too!!LizNoVeggieGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00785142908687097216noreply@blogger.com
